Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Church of Our Lady of Manannah for Robert J. Hanley, age 60, who died Wednesday at his home. Msgr. Francis Garvey will officiate and burial will be at a later date in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the church and one hour prior to the services Tuesday also at the church. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Arrangements were made by Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Eden Valley.

Robert was born Jan. 22, 1950 in Litchfield to John & Margaret (McCormick) Hanley. He married Janet Larsen on June 13, 1970 at Church of Our Lady of Manannah. Robert lived in the Eden Valley area most of his life. He worked for Turner Excavating for 30 years, retiring in May 2009. He was a member of the 49ers Union. Robert was passionate for discussing political issues and had a great love for the outdoors. He most enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren. He most recently learned to use his laptop and loved downloading songs from Itunes.

Survivors include his daughters, Anna Hanley (Tanya Theisen) of Eden Valley, Meg (John) Gerads of Buffalo, and Abby (Justin) Kuechle of Eden Valley; brothers and sister, Greg Hanley of the Philippines, Mary (Mike) Haag of Eden Valley, and Michael (Elly) Hanley of Watkins; and grandchildren, Zachary and Brinn Kuechle, and Summer Gerads.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janet on August 21, 2008; and son, Geoffrey.

Memorials are preferred.
