Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud, for Leon Joseph Zwack who died on Friday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Friends and relatives may call from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, March 15th at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud and also after 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home on Monday. Rev. Al Stangl will officiate and burial will be at Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud.
Leon was born to the late Anton and Rose (Stueve) Zwack in St. Cloud. He married Elizabeth “Betty” Minnerath on August 2, 1951 at St. Boniface in Cold Spring. Leon was in the US Navy and worked road construction for Minnerath Construction Company for most of his life. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church and enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and spending time with Betty, daughters, grandchildren and great-granddaughters.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; daughters, Sheila (Steven) Dagenais of St. Cloud and Susan McGlynn of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Amanda, Joseph, Sara, Matthew, Meagan and Patrick; great-granddaughters, Isabella and Olivia; sister, Hildegard Dukowitz of St. Cloud; brothers, Edgar (Essie) Zwack of St. Cloud and Robert (Helen) Zwack of St. Cloud; and sister-in-law, Lois Zwack. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Bernadette Junglen, Mildred Bennett and Vernon Zwack.
Memorials are preferred.
