Elsie Thelma Edson, age 93 of Princeton, MN passed away peacefully on April 15, 2011 at the Elim Rehab and Care Center in Princeton with her family by her side.

Elsie was born on March 24, 1918 in Blue Hill Township, Sherburne County, MN to Albert and Kaja (Thoreson) Hermanson. Elsie grew up and attended country school in Blue Hill Township.

Elsie married Allen Edson on May 16, 1942 at the Orrock Lutheran Church. The couple lived, farmed and raised their family on the farm in Blue Hill Township. Elsie was a homemaker to her family and once her children were grown she went to work for Fingerhut and later Federal Cartridge. She retired in 1980. Allen passed away in 1993, later that year Elsie moved to Princeton.

Elsie was a devoted, life long member to the Lutheran faith. She enjoyed being active in her church with the Ladies Aide, teaching Sunday School, quilting and tending to the church’s needs. Elsie also enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends, traveling, flower gardening and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Elsie was a kind woman who will be greatly missed.
Elsie is survived by her children: Terral (Sherry) Edson, Marlys (Doug) Billison, Nancy Tomlinson (Charlie); daughter-in-law: Sandy Edson; brother: Leonard (Donna) Hermanson; sister: Eleanor Bennett; 16 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and by many other loving relatives and friends.

Elsie was preceded in death by her husband: Allen; son: Donald; daughter: Shirley; twin brother: Elwin; 3 brothers; 2 sisters and by her parents.

Visitation: 5-8PM Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Princeton. A prayer service will be at 7PM at the funeral home. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.

Funeral Service: 11AM Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Hope Lutheran Church in Orrock.

Interment: Orrock Cemetery
