Lucille K. Oeffling, 85, Princeton, died Monday, April 18th in Princeton, MN, surrounded by her loving family.
Lucille Kathrine Orrock was born on August 5, 1925 in Santiago Township, Sherburne County, MN, daughter of Lester and Anna (Carlson) Orrock. Lucille grew up and was educated at the District 21 country school at Santiago, MN. She worked in a cookie factory in Minneapolis and later worked with Fingerhut in Princeton. She was united in marriage with Phillip Oeffling on June 28, 1952 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto, MN. Lucille had worked as a waitress at the Knotty Pine Café in Princeton and at the Rainbow Café, also in Princeton. Her husband, Phillip, died in 1989. She worked with the Senior Dining Center for five years until retiring in 2000.
She enjoyed playing solitaire, Yahtzee, working with her hands doing embroidery and watching game shows on TV, especially Wheel of Fortune. She also enjoyed watching her favorite baseball team, the Minnesota Twins and wrestling.
She is survived by her four daughters and three sons: Donna Knutson of Milaca, Ann (Greg) Oldenkamp of Dalbo, Marvin (Sue) Oeffling of Princeton, Carol (Greg) Kraft of Princeton, Alice (Mike) Guimont of Princeton, Joe Oeffling of Princeton and Phillip (Theresa) Oeffling of Inver Grove Heights, MN; twelve grandchildren: Nick Knutson, Janelle Tou, Jason Oldenkamp, Jenny Guimont, Dustin Oeffling, Amber Aasen, Samantha Knutson, Kelly Wilson, Jessi Kraft, Sam Oeffling, Casey Oeffling & Noah Oeffling; and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Lester and Anna Oeffling; her husband: Phillip Oeffling in 1989; a brother and two sisters: Lyle Orrock, Emily Possehl and Mildred Krisak; an infant son and daughter; and two infant grandsons.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday at Christ Our Light – South, Zimmerman with a Prayer Service at 7 PM at the church. Visitation will also be for one hour before services on Thursday at Christ Our Light – North, Princeton.
Funeral: 10:30 AM, Thursday, April 21st at Christ Our Light – North Campus, Princeton, MN.
Burial: St. Edward’s Catholic Cemetery, Princeton, MN.
