Betty was born May 23, 1917 in rural Watkins to George & Catherine (Erpelding) Klein. She married Al Hoxmeier at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins on Oct. 18, 1938 and they lived at Orleans, NE for about eight years before moving to a farm near Eden Valley. Together they raised five sons and one daughter. Betty was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, Assumption Christian Women, and Eden Valley Senior Citizens. Betty was a painter and painted about 30 paintings for family. She also enjoyed her flower gardens, dancing, music, attending church, and family visits. Betty completed both the Klein and the Hoxmeier family histories, which was a big accomplishment.

She is survived by her children, Gary (Gayle) Hoxmeier of Hinckley, Ron (Jan) Hoxmeier of Eden Valley, Jim (Stephanie) Hoxmeier of Plymouth, Virginia Dunn of California, Roger Hoxmeier of Eden Valley, and Randy (Maxine) Hoxmeier of Hill City; sisters, Marge Kinzer of Watkins and Kitty Winter of Maple Lake; seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfons in 1979; sisters, Hilaria Schreiner and Mary Schreiner; and brothers, Nick, Peter, Alvin, Leo, and Art Klein.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Hilltop Care Center, Watkins for the excellent care of our mother for the last eight years.
