Funeral Services will be 12:00pm on Monday, December 12 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud for Thomas P. Hommerding who died Friday at the VA Medical Center in St. Cloud. Rev. Richard McGuire will officiate and burial will be at Assumption Cemetery. Friends and family may call one hour prior to services at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Tom was born August 23, 1940 to Aloysius and Dolores (Nolen) Hommerding. He was born and raised in the St. Cloud area and was a graduate of Cathedral High School. Tom proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1958 – 1962 and was employed at Woodcraft for 27 years until his retirement in 2002. He was very proud of his beautiful flower and vegetable gardens, loved listening to the radio, caring for indoor plants and fish. Tom also enjoyed painting and caring for his mother and sister, Mary.

Survivors include his siblings, Julie (Tom) Soderberg of Embarrass, Kitty Zak of Rochester, Joe (Joanne) of St. Cloud, Nita Russell of St. Cloud, Mary of Cold Spring, Paul (Diane) of Alexandria, Sue (Brian Laing) of Rochester, Jim (Karen) of St. Cloud, and Dan (Linda) of St. Cloud. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Charles; sister, Theresa; six infant brothers and sisters; and brothers-in-law, Larry Russell and Dick Zak.
The family would like to thank the staff at both the Minneapolis and St. Cloud VA Medical Centers, especially the staff of building 49, floor one.

Memorials are preferred to St. Luke’s Group Home in Cold Spring.
